Find out how Bristol Zoo's sister organisation BCSF helps to protect gorillas and their natural habitat

We've given local artists a chance to show their creativity by decorating one of our gorillas. They were given the chance to find an element of Bristol that they would like to document creatively to the rest of the world. It could be an historical figure, a literary piece, an iconic building or landmark, a native species, the local environment, or something not many people know about the area. Just something we love that makes us proud of Bristol.
The gorillas are a fibre glass mould finished in white - a blank canvas for the artists to make their own. We think you'd agree with us when we say that the finished designs were truly gorilliant! You can view all of the finished gorillas on our Facebook page here.
After the having been on show in Bristol for the Summer the statues will now be auctioned to raise significant funds to support gorilla conservation projects and Bristol charity Wallace and Gromit's Grand Appeal.
